The Mumbai Trans Harbour Link, also known as the Sewri-Nhava Sheva Trans Harbour Link, is an under-construction 21.8 kilometres, freeway grade road bridge connecting the Indian city of Mumbai with Navi Mumbai, its satellite city.
When completed, it would be the longest sea bridge in India. The bridge will begin in Sewri, South Mumbai and cross Thane Creek north of Elephanta Island and will terminate at Chirle village, near Nhava Sheva. The road will be linked to the Mumbai Pune Expressway in the east and to the proposed Western Freeway in the west. The sea link will contain a 6 lane highway, which will be 27 meters in width, in addition to two emergency exit lanes, edge strip and crash barrier.
The project is estimated to cost ₹14,262 crore (US$2.0 billion). The MMRDA awarded contracts for the project in November 2017; construction began in April 2018, and is scheduled to complete within four-and-a-half years. The MMRDA estimates that 70,000 vehicles will use the bridge daily after it opens.

Development by reputed builders: According to Amit Jain
of Fourth Dimension Realty, Navi Mumbai, “Areas in Navi Mumbai, such as
Panvel, Ulwe, Dronagiri, and Vashi had witnessed significant real
estate development by premium builders like Godrej Properties, Marathon
Group, Kalpataru Group, and Arihant Group, among others, due to the
proximity of these localities to the sea link.
Price competitiveness: The Navi Mumbai nodes falling in the periphery of and nearby the sea link are touted to provide affordable accommodation as compared to localities in and around South Mumbai where the prices are skyrocketing.
The commute time between South Mumbai and Navi Mumbai will decrease from the earlier two-and-a-half hours to a mere 30 minutes after the completion of the MTHL, thus significantly boosting connectivity between the two cities. When a multitude of factors regarding Navi Mumbai such as the excellent social infrastructure, soothing weather, lack of noise and air pollution, and stark differences in affordability are compared to some localities of Mumbai, it can be fair to say that in the coming two to three years, a significant number of people will shift to Navi Mumbai from various parts of the island city. These factors will also play out in a similar manner for the thousands of people who migrate to Mumbai from across the country in hopes of employment.

The Trans-Harbour Link will serve as an economic gateway to Navi Mumbai and provide a long-term solution to the traffic congestion being faced
by the millennium city. The pressure of emerging traffic from
Mumbai-Pune expressway, NH 4 and Mumbai-Goa highway on the Vashi Bridge
will also be relieved by the upcoming sea link.

the speedy transportation of freight for both the Mumbai Port in
Southern Mumbai and the Jawaharlal Nehru Port in Nhava-Sheva. The
six-lane freeway will also provide connectivity to the upcoming
International Airport being built in Ulwe, Navi Mumbai.
